Lynn Carman Bodden - Interim Senior Pastor -

Transitional ministry has been my vocation since 1989, and although the work in each of the nineteen congregations I’ve served thus far has been much the same, I know that what lies ahead in the transitional work of the First Reformed Church of Schenectady will bring new challenges and discoveries.  Together we will face into challenging times, not only of the transition of Senior Pastor, but also in the ways the church will continue to adapt and adjust amid the anxieties, uncertainties and grief that have arisen as a result of Covid19, a tumultuous political climate, and the call of God and our brothers and sisters to engage anti-racist life and work. Blessed by Love that is radically inclusive and extravagantly generous, we trust God is with us in all things, and that opportunities to grow and serve will yet unfold.

I have been a neighborhood resident since 2014, and look forward to getting to know this congregation and more about the Schenectady community we share in the coming months.
